Overview

The Channel Master PreAmp 1 is a professional-grade TV antenna pre-amplifier designed to enhance the performance of any (non-amplified) professional-grade outdoor TV antenna.  The PreAmp 1 will boost antenna signal strength, improve signal quality and may increase the number of channels received.  The PreAmp 1 includes many features including a new high/low gain adjustment switch located on the power inserter and can be adjusted from inside the home. The ultra-low noise amplifier also leverages a new internal filter design that is optimized to support current digital TV standards as well as future TV standards such as NexGen TV/ATSC 3.0, 4K, and more. The heavy-duty weatherproof metal housing is built so that it can be installed outdoors near the antenna where it will provide the best results or it can also be installed indoors.  The mounting bracket included with the PreAmp 1 will accommodate a mast or mounting pole up to 2" in diameter.  The PreAmp1 can be mounted to a pole or mast with the included bracket or it can be used without the bracket and mounted using screws under the eave or to a wall.   There is also no need for an electrical outlet outside near the antenna, the PreAmp 1 can be powered over the coaxial cable using the included power inserter.  (When installing a splitter with this amplifier it must be a power passing splitter, most common splitters will not pass power.)

Channel Master has designed, manufactured and sold television antenna amplifiers for over 60 years and has led the industry with popular amplifier models designed for professionals including our Titan 2 and Amplify pre-amplifier models (CM-7777HD, CM-7777V3 and CM-7778V3). Through the years, installers and industry experts have touted these professional models as the best TV antenna amplifiers on the market.

The PreAmp 1 is Channel Master's newest pre-amplifier and is an excellent amplifier for commercial installations and professionally installed residential installations.

Indoor/Outdoor Heavy-Duty Housing

Competitor TV antenna amplifiers are typically constructed with plastic and designed for indoor use only. The Channel Master PreAmp 1, like our Titan 2 professional models, is constructed of a die-cast metal housing with weatherproof ports to support outdoor installations.  The PreAmp 1 includes an optional mounting bracket for attaching the amplifier to a mast/pole or the amplifier can be used without the mounting bracket and simply attached to any flat surface using screws. The flexibility of being able to install the PreAmp 1 indoors and outdoors allows use with an indoor antenna and the ability to upgrade to an outdoor antenna in the future without having to purchase a new amplifier.

Adjustable Amplification

Most people think more is better. This is not always the case when talking about TV antenna amplifiers. We see this all the time when consumers purchase our highest gain professional amplifier (CM-7777V3) without having the signal measurement equipment to determine how much they really need to amplify their signals. In many cases, too much signal will do more harm than good to your overall signal and reception quality. The Channel Master PreAmp 1 eliminates the need for a consumer to be conscious of signal strength while still providing an industry-leading 30dB of gain. With the inclusion of a gain switch built into the power inserter, you can easily start with the high setting of 30dB gain then if you determine that this much signal has a negative impact on your reception, you can slide the switch to the low setting of 17dB which in most cases will be a safe amount of gain and make a noticeable difference in signal quality. *When installed indoors directly behind a television set, it is recommended to NOT use the high (30dB) setting.

Passive Bypass Feature

The Channel Master PreAmp 1 has an integrated passive bypass switch that allows the amplifier to continue passing signals without amplification during a loss of power to the amplifier.  Most other amplifiers on the market will not pass signals without being powered.  This is a new feature and is the only Channel Master preamplifier with this capability.

LTE and Out of Band Filtering

The proliferation of LTE signal towers and connected LTE devices are a common cause of intermittent television signal disruption because mobile carriers operate on frequencies that can be very close to your broadcast TV frequencies. These disruptions can result in weak signals, pixelation or even channel loss, and can be especially disruptive when using an amplifier with your TV antenna. You won’t have to worry about this with the Channel Master PreAmp 1.  Built-in filters have been finely tuned to clear your OTA TV signal path from common interference including those created by mobile 5G LTE signals as well as other wireless signals such as 4G, FM and LoRa/Helium.

Optimized for use with the Channel Master Pro-Model Antenna

The PreAmp 1 is optimized to closely match the frequency response of Channel Master's Pro-Model antenna which will enhance the overall performance of the Pro-Model antenna when properly installed.  In addition to being the ideal preamplifier for the Pro-Model antenna, the PreAmp 1 is at the top of its class when used with any high-quality Channel Master or Competitor (Non-Amplified) TV antenna.

Weather Breakthrough and Train stopper

We have been having poor reception with bad weather and when a train goes by our home. Since getting the Channel Master the reception is very good. It is uninterrupted by bad weather and the trains go past unnoticed in the TV reception.

Greatly Improved Reception

Was receiving ATSC 3.0 signal on some channels poorly, this vastly improved the reception of those channels.

Better with Power Gain Options Located Inside

This pre-amp replaced an old one with a button on the amp to toggle between low and high gain. Not a place you want it if it's hard to reach (on the antenna mast) like in my setup. The CM-7779 has those options at the power inserter located inside the house. It's a switch and not just a button, so it will stay where you set it. I use the high gain option because I split the signal four ways and some of those coax runs are long. I'm very happy with the results.

Channel Master antenna and pre-amp was the fix. We can now watch CBS, ABC,CW, Ion and PBS from (2) different cities. Reminds me of my childhood with free tv, but now with Smart tvs and home wi-fi my wife can watch endless movies also. What an improvement! A well kept secret.

A Quick fix after decades of reception issues

We reside in an area that is in a fringe area and has been for many years. Suffering through the expense of antennas and amplifiers, finally, The Channel Master Amplifier has been the fix. Fast and easy to install, we were up and watching clear channels and more of them. Buy Channel Master and not the overseas junk. Thanks Channel Master, Kudos!
