I used this mount for a roof application mounting it on top of the singles with some butyle rubber between the mount and shingles for a tight seal. The screws in the kit would work fine for mounting to a wood wall structure, but for the roof I used longer/larger wood screws with a round top 3/8" hex style head. It works great for mounting the antenna pole to the roof. This mount is only intended to anchor the base of the antenna, setting the end of the pole directly into the mount and using guy wires to steady the pole vertically. This is a two man job, one to set the mounting base and guy wires and one to hold the antenna pole vertically.

This is the best way to mount a mast in the attic. I've used it four times and I never have any problems finding plumb.

Perfect for attic install
I would not recommend this mount for anything but an attic install as it is very flimsy. With no wind it does the job fine.
