Overview

The Channel Master TV Antenna Signal Meter is designed for use by professional TV antenna installers, service technicians, and OTA enthusiasts. The TV Antenna Signal Meter will receive and measure the signal strength and signal quality of over-the-air (OTA) TV Antenna signals. The meter is ideal when installing a TV antenna allowing the installer to point and align any TV antenna for maximum signal reception. In addition to aiding new installation, the meter is also useful to verify the attenuation over coaxial cable and the insertion loss of splitters when troubleshooting signal issues.

The TV Antenna Signal Strength Meter supports ATSC signals on frequencies between 54MHz and 800MHz. The meter will measure and display the RF signal level and SNR by individual channel in dBm along with a visual meter and an optional audible tone that intensifies as the signal increases. Users are also able to view the signal strength of channels across the entire OTA broadcast spectrum on a single screen. The built-in touch 2.9 Inch touchscreen display allow users to adjust the settings and control the device by simply touching the screen with the finger or using the included stylus.

The meter is compact in size and includes a protective carrying case to make it easy to handle and keep protected when climbing a ladder, tower, working on a roof, or in an attic crawl space. The built-in Li-Ion rechargeable battery pack will provide several hours of testing on a full charge. The Channel Master TV Antenna Signal Strength Meter is a must-have for anyone aiming for the highest quality TV Antenna installation.

TV Antenna Signal Level Meter - Great Product

Good quality and easy to setup and use. Great battery life.
Used the meter to do OTA signal measurements from various points within a 30 mile radius of transmitter towers for a research project.
A pencil with an eraser works great on the touch screen, lost the included stylus the first day :).
It's a stretch, but it would be great if the meter had a data output port to record data instead of manual logging - but for the price, it's great.

The Best

Simple to use. Nice display. Fair price. Been using it for 3+ years without a problem. Small problem with my area is that I have 3 broadcasting Fox Channel 17, one main feed and 2 re-broadcast each one on a different frequency. Labeling them was tricky.

Signal level meter model CM-1005

I found the three buttons easy to use. The displays are excellent and provide easy to understand channel information. I’ve been trying to find a decent meter for signal strength and antenna alignment. Those $10-20 meters aren’t worth trying to measure anything. To me the cost is well worth it. Great product.

Very useful tool for troubleshooting and antenna pointing!

This is a really handy tool for troubleshooting signal problems; it's easy to connect it to opposite ends of a cable run, opposite ends of a splitter, filter, amp, etc., and see if you're losing signal or introducing noise at each step along the chain. It's also very helpful when pointing an antenna, especially if you're trying to maximize signal from one particular station.

There are a couple "room for improvement" items that could possibly be dealt with in firmware updates: even after calibration I found the touch screen a little lacking in responsiveness either from the blunt stylus (maybe a more pointy stylus would work better). Also a "hold" mode would be helpful so that one could continue to see the last measurement even after disconnecting the cable. The touch screen is older technology, like the kind used on my printer, where there's a separate layer above the screen that physically moves with your touch; it feels a little antiquated compared with the smartphones and tablets we're all used to.

Still in all, a great little device and something I've wished I had on many occasions before I finally got one.

Great Product

Being new to the Antenna world can be intimidating, but this tool is really worth it in my opinion. After installing the recommended antenna for my area, I was having some issues with a couple of stations. I was able to work through those signal related issues very easily by analyzing the signals for my area. This meter really takes the guess work out of everything and is overall a very helpful thing to have around when you are ready to cut the cord.
