I live in an apartment complex in a townhouse in a fringe area. I was using a Mohu Leaf antenna and it did an adequate job. Since I do live in a townhouse, I had to put the antenna upstairs and run a longer RG6 cable along the baseboard to the downstairs.
I also had to use the amplifier that came with it. Only one problem, the rf cable from the amplifier was a small gauge wire and not shielded very well. Another resident in the complex has an electric golf cart, and every time he went by, the EMF would pixilate and some times cause my signal to completely go out.
I do not have that problem with the flatenna+ amplifier as it uses a heavy RG6 cable from the power inserter to the TV. I'd say it is comparable in performance to the Mohu, except for the better amplifier setup. I receive the same number of channels. I also wish these types of antennas were better at picking up the high VHF signals, as my local ABC network is also on channel 13, and I can't receive it either. I noticed R. W. has the same problem.
As I am renting, I can't use the pads that came with it, so I am thankful that the antenna had holes that I use pushpins to mount it to the wall.
Actually I was surprised by how many channels I was able to capture and the quality of some of them with this indoor antenna, good job channel master 🤙
I had a table top antenna from Amazon that didn't get one particular channel, the VHF / ABC affiliate in 35 miles away in Los Angeles. I bought Channel Master with amplifier hoping it would pull it in but it doesn't. (Oh Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune how I miss thee) The Channel Master flat with amplifier is no better than the 12 dollar table top, generic model for my application. Also although it comes two sided, and I wanted white to blend with the white wall but it ONLY comes with black coax cable so the white side is pointless. Also, the two side tape gave up in a day and I read that in other reviews so I'm disappointed Channel Master didn't correct that issue. 4 stars for quality build, minus a star in the details.
Clear instructions on how to hook everything together. Fantastic picture once I got the best placement. Very easy installation and placement. Don’t know why I waited so long to get one.
Feast to install and stations come in fine. Would have liked to also have a white cable for antenna to tv as I am using white side. Would recommend this antenna
